Rules
GENERAL
- No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the Fairgrounds.
- Pullers must sign a waiver of liability; the CPTOA and/or Fair are not liable for accidents/injuries.
- Pulling vehicles will be (1) entry per class to be determined by lottery draw picked by registration officials.
- Pulling vehicles will be weighed-in for class and hitch checked to remain in staging area, no allowance.
- Pulling vehicles over 30% factory RPMs must have side shields and bell housing protection.
- Pulling vehicles will be subject to a random tech inspection.
- No excess speeding or horseplay in the pit area.
- Only officials, sled operator and pullers are permitted on the track.
- Any disputes will be between the puller and the Contest Committee only.
- Contest Committee has the right to reject any entries and/or change the rules.
- Contest Committee has the right to add weight or start class over.
PULLING
- Full pull line will be determined by the Committee.
- First puller is test puller with option to come back for a re-hook last, if change sled.
- Any test puller in a stock class has the option to come back third.
- Driver must remain seated with one hand on the wheel at all times.
- All drivers are responsible for their own equipment.
- Any loss of equipment or weights while hooked to sled will result in disqualification.
- First puller disqualification will void the option for re-pull.
HOOKING AND UNHOOKING
- The flagman will start and finish all hooks.
- All pulling vehicles must remain in neutral while hooking and unhooking.
- All pullers will have a 3-minute time limit to hook.
- All pullers will have two attempts to start sled from tight hitch, no jerking.
- No portion of pulling vehicle shall interfere with sled or hitch during a pull.
RULES FOR FARM TRACTORS
- Crankcase must be of tractor/combine origin. No agricultural truck engines. Must retain original amount of cylinders.
- Diesel tractors must use OEM size pump & charger for model of tractor unless using a factory replacement engine for that model.
- Must use stock type head and manifold.
- Hitch height is 20”.
- Draw bars must be equipped with a hitching device not more than 1” in thickness and must have a 3” diameter opening.
- Pulling point must not be more than 1 ½” from rear most point of hitch.
- No pressurized tanks except for LP gas.
- All engine radiators must be properly shielded in all directions.
- Exhaust must discharge vertically & exceed the highest point on the tractor unless standard manufacturers specs differ. The exhaust must be secure.
- No part of the tractor may interfere with the sled or chain during the pull.
- All weights must be safely and securely attached to the tractor. Any weights or parts that fall of the tractor between flags is grounds for disqualification.
- No weight bracket/weight may extend more than 11 feet from the center of rear axle on 4500, 5500, 6500; 24” beyond the front of the tractor for heavier classes.
- Must have lift arms. This is the upper arm directly hooked to the rock shaft.
- Must have PTO in 11500, 13000 and 15000.
- 3000 RPM limit in 11500, 13000 and 15000.
- 12 mph in 11,500 - 15,000. No Pace.
